Allow me to welcome you to the web pages of the village Cigeľ, which is situated in the Prievidza district in the north-western part of the mountain Vtáčnik. The goal of these web pages is to inform the general public via the internet about our village, its history and various cultural activities held throughout the year. At the same time we would like to invite you to these cultural activities. So it is only up to you to look through our web pages and later on personally visit our village and view the beautiful countryside which surrounds it. History of village

The village Cigel is situated in the north-western part of the mountain Vtacnik 465 meters above sea level in the valley, which was formed by the stream called Ciglianka. Cigel was occupied much earlier than is mentioned in documents. It was probably inhabited in the older Bronze period, which was about 4000 years ago......
